After the Model Attributed to Augustin Pajou (1730-1809), 20th Century

Condition
Thinly cast, with rough edges; seems to bronze or a mixture of bronze and another metal, but a later casting taken from the surface relief of an original plaque.
Provenance
Note:Augustin Pajou designed this plaque as one of a pair, the other depicting Hercules restraining Cerberus. The plaques were installed in the Hôtel de Voyer on the Rue des Bons Enfants in Paris, originally built in 1705 for Marie-Louise Madeleine Victorine le Bel de la Bussière and redecorated from 1762-1770.
